SurftopEye features

SurftopEye is software designed for use in 3D measurement and analysis of surface texture including its roughness/waviness distribution spread. To achieve such measurement and analysis, the software is designed to support various functions such as regression on surface texture and its 3D display. The software is also designed to be compatible with standard surface height data file format SDF (.sdf), supporting texture data files created by 3D texture measurement devices such as laser microscopes, AFM, STM and stylus type surface texture measurement instruments.

Birmingham 14 parameters and extension parameters

SurftopEye is designed to allow Birmingham 14 parameters to be quantified. The software is also designed to enable statistical distribution parameters for "Peak (Valley) Distribution Pattern Factor" and "Mean Local Summit Spacing" to be quantified as extension parameters.

SurftopEye is designed to allow you to specify your selected ROI on the resultant surface texture data display window, causing the ROI-specified profile to be displayed for measurement of its width, height and length.

Regression and stylus needle correction

SurftopEye is equipped with a regression function to apply elementary functions to your measured data to remove its macroscopic surface distortion component and a needle correction function to correct your stylus-profiled data by geometrically inverse-offsetting it by the stylus needle radius.

Extensive filter processing

SurftopEye is equipped with an outlier correction function to determine the standard deviation of each point in the data from the reference point for comparison to judge whether the point is an outlier or not and to correct it if judged as an outlier by applying the local median function. This function is useful in preprocessing measured data before processing it with other filters provided by the software.

Real-time 3D view

SurfaceEye is designed to provide 3D presentation of the resultant surface texture measurement data and processing results to allow you to perform its 3D observation and analysis while rotating it along the X/Y/Z axes and/or zooming it in real time.
